Events currently under discussion in the forums. All Yaoi Events are strictly 18+ and will require photo ID at the door! Yaoi Slumber Party- Dress in PJs and bring your favorite blankets, pillows and plushies for naughty night of fun! Along with viewing clips from various series and discussing several topics, we'll also have snacks, themed games and trivia, a manga corner and many more other naughty-but-nice things for your enjoyment! Yaoi Library- Part of the Manga Library, the special Yaoi section will be a separate area where fans can indulge in browsing through the 200+ volume selection donated for use by this year's Manga Librarian, Amanda "Panda" Geer. With her extensive collection and vast knowledge regarding the genre, Panda is also one of our Yaoi Events Coordinators. This event will take place outdoors under the beautiful arch of the central lawn's gazebo patio (weather permitting.) Similar to a picnic setting, the gazebo will be cleared and available for any Lolita from Angelic Pretty to EGL style and everyone in between to enjoy a nice, relaxing tea time while they socialize with other who share their interests. In addition, this event will be concluded with the Lolita Photoshoot! (While iced tea may be provided, attendees are encouraged to bring their own snacks and drinks.)For this event, the front lawn's gazebo area will be cleared and cosplayers will be invited to bring their own snacks, drinks and blankets to enjoy a picnic with their fellow cosplayers. (All foods and drinks are to be provided by attendees.) An open entry fashion show to showcase all styles of Lolita fashion. Orchestrated by Ailey, the creator of My Sweet Lolita, this event will be judged by several fashion-savvy judges! Inspired by the obvious connection that the anime, manga and games we're all so fond of have with the rich history and fashion from Japan's many different eras, this event will revolve around a show of fashion in the traditional Japanese style. For this event, we have a real treat! Ann Arbor's own Asif Gill, who spent a good chunk of time in place where this fashion style was born, will be sharing experiences direct from Harajuku, Japan... along with judging the entries of this year's Harajuku Fashion Show! Check out his website, here: www.48intokyo.comNot an on-stage kind of person but still want to enter a cosplay contest? Hall Cosplay is the answer! Hall cosplay tosses out the stage aspect of the Cosplay Masquerade, along with all those cat-calls and freaky fans! If you think stage fright is looming and you're afraid you'll get cold feet before your performance, try Hall Cosplay instead! Hall Cosplay works on a much more personal level with the contestants as they come in one at a time and discuss their costume, its construction, who that character is, etc. with our judges. This event is great for a wide range of cosplayers, from first-time fans to seasoned contestants. Judging will be done in separate categories based on experience. Tips and critiques will also be offered at the digression of the participant. |
